Beskrivelse
Selected Paper Works 2003-2023.
For two decades Peter Callesen has animated paper in his hands, from miniature works in A4-format to large installations at human scale. With surgical precision, Callesen cuts silhuettes out of the flat paper, which he transforms into threee-dimensional figures and imaginative narratives. Life and death, grandiose nature, the fragile human being, and the thin–skinned artist are themes which Callesen audaciously approaches in his white works.
This book collects Callesen's paper works from 2003 to 2023, and is edited by art historian Natalia Gutman. Six writers – Barry Schwabsky, Merete Pryds Helle, Kristian Ditlev Jensen, Henrik Oxvig, Josephine Nielsen-Bergqvist, and Maja Lee Langvad – contribute with prose, poetry, and art historical texts inspired by themes in Callesen's art.
Peter Callesen himself contributes with six completely new works, created especially for this book, which you can try your hand at and experience on your own.
