Beskrivelse
Bjarni Haraldson Blaasvær is a 23-year-old Faroese composer and Introspection and time is his first book with a collection of short stories and poetry. Being a storyteller and gamemaster Bjarni is fond of telling stories with a twist. The perspective is close-up, and the reader gets to travel with the author on a personal journey of loneliness and rejection.
The settings of the short stories are not situated in any specific place or time and the themes are a mix of heavy situational plots where the characters often find him or herself in rite de passage-situations. The perspectives of the stories convey around the sense of forgetting how home feels like, the pain of self-improvement, the justification of inflicting pain, poetic statements, introspection, sense of not belonging, dissatisfaction, the search for happiness, emptiness and the human objectification of anthropomorphic beings.
The cover is a painting also by the author that illustrates the concept of the books theme of togetherness, and the joy of being around people. The painting showcases two individuals dancing in sync and the colors representing moments caught in stasis.
